Get What You Want: Living Your Most Abundant Life with Julie Solomon

Do you permit yourself to get what you want? Often, we swamp ourselves with humiliation, limiting us from venturing out of our life as we desire. If we're not as financially fortunate, inherent shame around money is nothing new. This scarcity mindset, however, affects how we respond to problems we’re faced with. But by our shifting our perspective, we can start live an abundant life.

In this episode of Radically Loved, Rosie speaks with Julie Solomon about business coaching, influencer marketing space, and abundance. Julie discusses the importance of doing spiritual work to qualify as a coach. Finally, she shares how she set herself free from financial illiteracy.

    Episode Highlights

[03:37] Hiring a Coach with Experience

    • When getting coached, it's critical to look for someone who has done what you're trying to do.

    • People have negative experiences with coaches because they have no foundational experience on the matter.

    • Someone joining a coaching program or having experience doing something for years doesn't immediately qualify them as a coach.

[05:31] Julie: “Just because someone joined the coaching program and learned some coaching strategies from that coach doesn't really mean that they are ready emotionally, spiritually, and mentally to hold space in a coaching container for people.” - Click Here to Tweet This

    [06:20] Doing Spiritual Work

    • Julie’s financial, personal, and professional rock bottom moments became her catalyst to get to where she is now.

    • The root of her inability to be honest with money was her shame around believing in abundance.

    • According to Human Design, Julie is a Manifesting Generator. However, her spiritual alignment was not in place with it.

    • Listen to the full episode as Rosie shares her personal take on the scarcity mindset!

[08:05] Julie: “I was only reacting and responding to the world through this scarcity lens. So the second that I would make money, I would just immediately spend it because I didn't even think that I was worthy of that.”  - Click Here to Tweet This

    [13:38] Manifesting an Abundant Life

    • Expressing abundance publicly is completely relative.

    • There’s no wrong way to manifest an abundant life. It’s about being true to ourselves and doing what feels in alignment.

    • You’re not responsible when your expression of your abundant life triggers others.

    • People should have the freedom to share on their terms, as long as the intention is integral and has no maliciousness.

[14:38] Julie: “We can't make anyone feel anything. We're damned if we do, and we're damned if we don't. It's not about doing or not doing something because we're afraid that it's going to affect somebody else in a negative way—we have to be true to ourselves.” - Click Here to Tweet This

[15:14] Julie: "I think that people should have the freedom to think and feel and live their life on their terms and shouldn't be ashamed to want to share or not share, overshare or under share, based off of what someone might think about that." - Click Here to Tweet This

    [16:09] Three Tools to Freedom

    • Julie’s rock bottom moment made her realize she never wanted to be in that powerless position again.

    • What helped her get through was learning the three As (awareness, acceptance, action) and doing a lot of 12-step therapy circles.

    • The three As provide her more freedom to be accountable for how she wants to present herself in the world.

    [19:32] Women and Financial Illiteracy

    • It begins with the patriarchal concept that a man figures out the money, while the woman is the financial toddler.

    • This belief system around women being financial toddlers was ingrained in our minds for so long.

    • You have the power to start thinking and feeling for yourself financially. It's still a journey and a process for Julie.

[25:18] Navigating the Presently Saturated Influencer Market

    • Get clear on your “why”.

    • You’ve got to care about something greater than yourself.

    • Identify the impact you want to create, who you want to serve, and your intention of wanting to be seen.

    • Be clear with your intentions.

[25:49] Julie: “They've (influencers) got to care about something that is greater than themselves. Otherwise, it's just not going to work. So it goes beyond the popularity—it goes beyond that.” - Click Here to Tweet This

    [27:41] Get What You Want

    • The title aims to give off a bold, direct, and masculine appeal because it's action-focused.

    • Julie had the desire to hold herself accountable for the possibility of the title being true.

    • For a long time, Julie didn’t believe getting what she wanted was possible.

    • The name of the book is her way of saying that there are opportunities if you’re ready to walk that path.

[30:12] What Julie is Currently Excited About

    • Julie’s excited about staying in the moment with this whole process.

    • Being present in wonderful moments with incredible people is a gift.

    • Coming from a place of joy and excitement gives other people permission to do the same as well.

[32:39] How Julie Feels Radically Loved

    • She feels radically loved by feeling seen and accepted just as she is by other people around her.

    • To her, unconditional love is an expression of radical love.
